We're now officially fosterers for Erin Hounds and we've got our first lodger!
Benny (Derrane Bolt)
Benny is a lovely young man of only two, a little shy in new situations but coming on really fast and learning about life as a "retired" hound at an amazing rate! He's starting to show a lovely personality, fun and playful with a great sense of humour (he likes stealing dirty socks to play with), loves his cuddles, and gets on really well with the other hounds.
Great in the house, he's clean and quiet and loves his crate which he sees as his safe place. He's already good at stairs, getting used to all the noise of a busy household and has been left for a couple of hours - happily sleeping in his crate. He's eating well and putting on condition already, he's going to be a stunning looking boy when he's grown a nice shiny coat.
Out and about he's coming on really well, noisy places are still a little daunting, but as he's made great leaps in the last week we are sure that he'll be a confident, outgoing lad in no time! He's been fantastic with every dog (large and small) he's met. He is a wary of children though.
Benny would be a great hound for a family without resident children, but with another dog and lots of cats (he loves cats!). He will in return, lavish the lucky household with unbounded affection; cuddles and licks and be the best companion you could wish for.
If you'd like to offer Benny a home, please contact Erin Hounds.
Rosie (Badgerfort Nama)
A tiny black pedigree greyhound bitch born May 2009, she had been on the streets of Tuam for several weeks before being picked up by a lovely couple who took her in, and then handed her over to rescue.
It is thought that she has been well cared for in the early part of her life, arriving in UK from Eire on 26/05/11.
Rosie is a sweet little hound, bright, very affectionate, smiley and loves everyone and everything. She loves her cuddles and while with us took in everything around her.
She was a delight to have around, oh and very very wriggly!
